Unlike the high-riding Crossover, the Crown Sedan is a dedicated low-slung executive car that emphasizes "gliding" ride comfort and rear-seat hospitality. For, the sedan is powered exclusively by a high-efficiency 2.5L Multi-Stage Hybrid system or an available Hydrogen Fuel Cell (FCEV) powertrain in select markets, both paired with rear-wheel drive for classic luxury dynamics. The interior is a showcase of Japanese "Omotenashi" hospitality, featuring a "Mokume" wood-grain dashboard and specialized rear-seat relaxation modes, making it the clear successor to the legendary Crown Majesta.
While the Crossover is a tall, AWD fastback, the Sedan is a traditional RWD luxury car with a much longer wheelbase (3,000mm). This extra length is dedicated entirely to the rear cabin, providing significantly more legroom and a smoother ride than the Crossover version.
Yes. It uses a 4-speed physical gearbox combined with the hybrid motor to simulate a 10-speed transmission. This allows the car to maintain higher torque at lower speeds and a quieter engine drone during high-speed cruising, providing a more "mechanical" and premium feel.
The sedan features a traditional trunk rather than a liftback. While the volume is generous for golf bags or executive luggage, the opening is more narrow than the Crown Crossover or Crown Signia, prioritizing cabin isolation over cargo height.
On the top "Majesta" or executive trims, the front passenger seat can be moved forward by the rear occupant via a side-mounted controller. This, combined with reclining rear seats and independent climate control, allows the rear-left seat to function like a first-class airplane lounge.
