The second-generation Levorg (VN series) is built on the Subaru Global Platform (SGP), offering a sophisticated blend of speed and daily usability. While it retains the iconic hood scoop and Symmetrical AWD, it moves upscale with a refined interior and the "EyeSight X" safety suite. In many global markets, it has been rebranded as the WRX Wagon (or Sportswagon), packing the larger 2.4L turbo engine to satisfy enthusiasts who need extra boot space without sacrificing a sub-6-second sprint to 60 mph.
Essentially, yes. In markets like Australia and the Philippines, the Levorg has been officially renamed the WRX Wagon to align with its performance DNA. While the 1.8L versions in Japan focus on "Grand Touring" comfort, the 2.4L export models are mechanically identical to the WRX sedan from the B-pillar forward.
No. Unlike the WRX Sedan, the Levorg/WRX Wagon is strictly CVT only (Lineartronic). Subaru opted for the automatic-only approach to integrate the advanced EyeSight X safety features and to position the wagon as a more "mature," effortless long-distance cruiser.
The Levorg Layback is a factory-raised crossover version of the wagon. It features 200mm of ground clearance (up from 145mm), softer suspension, and rugged body cladding. It’s designed for those who want the Levorg's look but need the extra height for light trails or deep snow.
Significantly. The wagon offers a 492-liter boot that expands to over 1,400 liters with the 40:20:40 split rear seats folded flat. It also features a "hands-free" power tailgate where you can open the door just by waving your arm near the rear Subaru emblem.
